We are working with a hospital in Surrey who are seeking an experienced and dedicated A&E nurses to join their dynamic Emergency Department.
This is an exciting opportunity for nurses looking for flexible shift options and competitive pay, with both day and night shifts available. A&E nurses with paediatric experience are also welcomed and can work within the Children’s A&E ward, making this a versatile and rewarding placement.
As an A&E Nurse, your responsibilities will include the rapid assessment and treatment of patients with a wide range of acute medical, surgical, and trauma conditions. You will be expected to prioritise patients based on clinical urgency, deliver hands-on emergency care, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and assist in emergency procedures. Collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team is key, as is effective communication with patients and families during what is often a stressful time.
For nurses working in the Paediatric A&E, your role will also involve delivering compassionate and specialised care to children and young people from infancy to adolescence. You will be skilled in recognising the unique presentation of illness in children, supporting anxious families, and adapting care delivery to meet the developmental needs of younger patients. Experience in safeguarding, paediatric resuscitation, pain management, and child-specific observation tools is essential.
Requirements:
To be eligible for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN – Adult) with valid NMC registration
- Minimum of 6 months' UK-based A&E experience within the last 2 years
- For those working in Paediatric A&E, proven paediatric emergency care experience is essential
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) certification
- Up-to-date DBS, mandatory training, and full clinical compliance
- Strong clinical skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and excellent communication skills
